Özet

INTRODUCTION: Synchronous metastases of the ureter and renal

pelvis are rarely seen in RCC(Renal cell carcinoma). In this case report,

we aimed to present a case of synchronous RCC metastases to

ipsilateral ureteral and renal pelvic detected after radical nephrectomy

for right renal mass.

CASE: A 69-year-old male patient presented with hematuria. There

was no lesion on the cystoscope.Approximately 10 cm mass lesion

which extended from the upper and middle right kidney to the renal

pelvis and proximal ureter, was seen on abdominal computed tomography

(CT).Also left renal vascular tumor thrombus was observed.

Right radical nephrectomy, right ureterectomy and lymph node dissection

were applied to the patient. Right radical nephrectomy material

was reported as RCC subtype, clear cell carcinoma, furhman grade

grade 3. RCC metastases to renal pelvic and ureter which located on

pathology specimen.

DISCUSSION: Approximately 70% of kidney tumors are detected

incidentally. Primer RCC is well known for its unpredictable biological

behavior, early metastatic propensity and metastatic potential. It is

reported that about one third of patients with BCC can develop with

metastases. Our case is a case of RCC who metastases synchronous

ureter and renal pelvic as a result of postoperative pathology. Despite

the presence of left renal vein thrombus, there was no tumor formation

in the left kidney and collecting system.

RESULT: The genitourinary system is one of the rare areas of RCC

metastasizes. Synchronous renal pelvis and ureteral metastases are

very rare. The mechanism of metastasis is not fully understood. For

this reason, further study is necessary.
