Özet

This paper presents the simulation of the usage and demand-side management potential of time-shiftable household appliances, specifically washing machines and dishwashers, with a focus on Turkey. Using public survey data and real consumption data obtained through power measurement devices, the study employs a probability density function of a uniform distribution for the usage simulation. The results indicate that effective demand response programs applied to consumers in the context of smart grids could lead to a reduction in peak power consumption and fill the valleys in the power consumption curve. Therefore, with the digitalization of power systems, time-shiftable household appliances demonstrate significant potential as flexible loads in the power system. It is expected that obtained sceneries and results will show the importance of time-shiftable household appliances.
