Ayhan Nuri Yılmaz completed his undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Istanbul University and received his master’s and doctorate degrees in the European Union Discipline from the same university. He has also completed a second master’s in 2010 at the Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations at the University of Toronto. After 20 years of experience in finance and banking, he entered the academic world. He worked in various Universities since then and he is currently working at the Faculty of Business Administration of Samsun University.

Main working areas are; Academic Analysis of Public Diplomacy; Examples from Turkey and the World, the European Union, Ombudsman, International Integration, Regional Studies, Identity and cultural studies, Soft Power, Public Diplomacy, International Relations, Turkey-EU relations, Turkic Republics.

He has published a joint book ‘Ombudsman System in the World and a Case Study – The Netherlands’ Experiences and Turkey’s Situation (2015)’. The editorial book ‘Academic Analysis of Public Diplomacy; Examples from Turkey and the world’ was published in 2018. Another book was published in 2019 with the title of The Steele Wrapped in Silk – Soft Power of Turkey and its Public Diplomacy Practises. He has many articles and book chapters on ‘Turkey’s soft power and public diplomacy practices’ in additionally.

Yilmaz conducted many social and public projects and assisted the Governorate of Duzce and Samsun provinces. He gives consultancy for the private sector companies as well. He also works as an advisor of Aymnet Company in terms of the foreign relationship.
